This was a special one. Both Joe and Nicole are two of the coolest, most genuine people I know. But what makes this one so special was that it never should’ve happened. I didn’t know if I should share all of this at first, but after a quick google search I figured it would be ok.
You see, Nicole should be dead. That might seem harsh, but it’s true. Here’s her story in a nutshell. Nicole was a world class dancer in the shape of her life, just starting the audition circuit after a huge move to New York, when she had an accident. She fell six stories off of her apartment building in New York and landed in the building’s garbage chute. She was found the next day in a pile of broken glass by her building’s superintendent. She suffered a broken back, broken neck, countless broken bones, punctured lung, and the real kicker - an “internal decapitation.” She should not be here. She is a miracle.
The doctors credit her survival on the phenomenal shape she was in as a dancer. The average person would have died on impact. But not Nicole. The doctors told her she would never walk again, much less dance. But she wasn’t about to let that happen. She’s beaten every odd.
Obviously, it has not been an easy road. Despite everything she’s been through, she is the most delightful person you’ll ever be around. Her sense of humor is wicked. She is a complete joy and she makes everything better. Her attitude and view of life is infectious. Not to mention she is a complete stunner. Joe, you really out kicked your coverage.
Joe is alright, too. Haha I kid! Joe and I go way back to our Dear World days, and I’ve never met a more genuine guy or harder worker. He’s a filmmaker and his first movie The Hand is making the festival rounds now. Can’t wait to see it.
These two are a perfect match and I don’t say that lightly.
I’ll keep it short, but if you want to learn more about Nicole and her journey, please check out her website here.
Enjoy a quick preview of their wedding.
